I know that I have already let some of you about this service but I thought that I would post it here in case anyone else was interested. I've been getting massages from Natasha for the past five years and I can't say enough good things about her. She has started her own mobile massage business (primarily out of Canmore) and she comes to Calgary once or twice per month to do massages on both Scott and I here at our house. Self care is often disregarded as time consuming, selfish, or replaced with excuses of little value, when in fact it's the most responsible thing we can offer to serve all that surrounds us with our maximum potential. Massage obviously relieves tense muscles. Massage therapy also evokes the opposite of the fight or flight response: the relaxation response, which lowers heart rate, breathing rate, and blood pressure and increases the blood supply to all the body’s systems, helping them function at an optimal level. Massage therapy can help with posture by stretching shortened muscles and fascia (the connective tissue that surrounds your muscles and other tissues), freeing movement around the joints, and relieving muscle contractions that can pull you out of alignment.
