Looking for a new challenge? - This is it…Canada's only national trail running series is offering an exciting atmosphere, a challenging course, a competitive field, and an amazing off-road experience all while practicing & promoting sound environmental ethics! Trail running is about constantly changing terrain and intensity. It’s peaceful and exhilarating all at the same time. It’s gentler on the mind and on the body, taking the relentless stress out of running while building strength and engaging muscles for a dynamic work out. Other race dates include: Sundre Snake Hill July 11 Canmore Nordic Centre Sept 12 See the link below for more information!! www.5peaks.com/schedule.asp?p=ab&raceid=162

I think I wouldn't mind doing the Sept 12th race out at the Nordic Centre Wyatt is pretty keen to do the kids race, I think it's only 1.5km...do you think there is anyway they would let me race that one?? ;D

I called COP (247-5452) and spoke with the events co-ordinator for more information about the race. I don't recall his name but I just asked for the position and he followed up. therwise, you could just email 5 Peaks to find out? Hope that helps!

Along the same lines - there's a XTERRA Triathlon in Canmore in Aug www.trainingandracing.com/offroadtriathlon/If you're not a swimmer, there's a duathlon instead. The bike is a mountain bike and the run is a trail run. I haven't registered yet but I'm pretty sure I'm in. Who wants to join me?

I'm in for the duathalon, I believe Vicki is too and it sounds like Karie can also be convinced as well. I already asked on the other page but...any suggestions as to how one trains for this?

All I have to say is that was a hard course. The last 3 huge hill at the end were killer. I had to walk to frist one but made it up the smaller last 2. Glad I only went for the 4.3km this time. Next race I am doing in July and still not sure if I will do sport 6.8km or enduro 11km. But I have some time to figure that out . It was super fun and so worth it!!
